Children and adolescents are some of the most accepting recipients of hypnosis. Through out the day, the child has been in and out of hypnosis while doing any of the following: video games, playing with friends, role playing as a fireman, teacher, or just day dreaming and staring off into space.
Pediatric hypnosis is a non-stimulant and non-medicated option to get to the root of the issue quickly and more successfully, in less time, with higher success rates. Hypnosis helps give the child the sense of control, increase self-esteem and self confidence that also reduces stress. Hypnosis bridges the child's acceptance of the suggestion and the inner world of their imagination. Hypnosis, is also extremely helpful when integrated into a multimodal treatment context that is adapted to the child's age both mentally and physically.
A tool to strengthen children's existing or under-developed skills in self-regulation, capacities to shift attention, maintain focused attention, inhibit and control reflexive actions, delay gratification, use problem solving strategies, and self-monitor and modulate thinking, emotion, behavior and psycho-physiological reactivity.
